I’m sure you know that Metal Clay sticks to everything!!! So annoying! People told me to use Silicone Baking Paper… and that works. Not very nicely though!
Well, here’s what I have been using for over 10 years now and I can honestly say that I’ve never found anything better.

Silicone Baking Sheets for use with Metal Clay

Silicone Baking Sheets!
Yes, the kind you bake your cookies on! They can handle heat so you can use it on your dryer plate or dehydrator, whatever kind you use.

I have cut the large mat into smaller, manageable pieces to make it easier to move things around while your working.

  • Cut your clay to shape using¬†your favourite cutters on top of a piece of Silicone sheet, that way you don’t have to pick up a nice shape and risk distorting it.
  • I also use a few of these little sheets for mixing glue. Let the leftovers set and they peel off the next day. No mess!
  • Use them when you are working with Paste Clay (that stuff gets everywhere!)

You can buy these sheets at cake decorating stores, I must admit I paid a fortune for mine!
But check out these AmazonBasics Silicone Baking Mat Р2 Pack
These are less than a third of the price I paid…., gotta love that!

When you get yours, cut them into sizes you think you’ll use a lot, but leave a few pieces a bit larger, they come in handy for glueing up other things sometimes.
